Senior Director of Eurobank Asset Management MFMC

Maria Koletta, Senior Director of Eurobank Asset Management MFMC, gave an interview on insider.gr and noted:

"In the last few years in Greece, we have noticed a trend towards getting off our couch, wearing our sports shoes and going out for a run. Why did we do that? Because we realised, after all these years, that our couch has nothing more to offer. In fact, it may be taking away hours, days, even months of our lives.

On the other hand, running creates prospects and opportunities for a better life. This does not mean that we threw our couch away. On the contrary, the couch will always be there and, with the proper use, we will enjoy it more.

And running is not the solution to all our problems. It can also prove detrimental, if we do not follow the right tactics, if we do not ask for advice, if we are not willing to learn, if we do not wear the right shoes. Now replace the couch with bank deposits and running with investments.

Deposits, with zero interest rates, have nothing to offer on their own. We will never stop holding our account in the bank, we will always make sure to keep a balance that can cover our everyday needs, but the golden goose mentality belongs to the past.

It is time to wear our sports shoes and turn to investing. There lies our only chance to have prospects and opportunities to either turn existing capital into a profitable portfolio or to build a portfolio from scratch.”
